Haircuts and swimming pools...oh and hot summers!

I sit here in the bonus room...it is 94 degrees in here. Dont worry, I have a fan beating upon my back.  The house is being air conditioned for the evening (chris' idea of not having the air on till we cant handle it any longer has reached its breaking point).  Currently, we turn the air on at 5 to cool things down for bed...it seems to be the hottest time of the day.

Wednesday was officially my 'bad' summer day.  It was hot, and I mean HOT! 91 degrees and 97% humidity kinda hot.  My plan was to take the girls to the library for story time, then on some indoors errands, and a picnic lunch in the park.  Well....Chris rang at 9 and said he needed his wallet which he left at home.  He was planning on driving it over, but I offered to drop it off on the way to the library.  He had a dr appointment in Brentwood at 10 which he needed it for.  No problem I thought (even though the girls and I weren't exactly dressed for the day.  We could do it!  (Oh, and story time was at 10 in the opposite direction!).  By 9:15 we were loading the car, when Olivia reminded me I needed to put the chickens away!  So, for the next 30 minutes, we ran around the back yard chasing the chickens... Ok, I must admit, I wasn't the nicest mommy around during that moment.  But would you be? lol.  We must have been a site!

Needless to say, we were late to dropping off the wallet with daddy... and I knew we wouldn't make it to the library in time...so we stopped at the factory.  To our dismay, all the shops we had wanted to go to, including the animal shelter, were shut down!  So back into the car.  Now in hind-site, I should have jumped on the trolly which had just pulled up to the factory.  Fae was squealing in delight at the site of it.  But no, oh no, I thought...I know, lets go to sweet ce ces...even though it was 10:15.  Well, what do you think happened... it wasn't open yet!  We tried to sit outside and eat our picnic lunch (by this point the girls announced it was too hot to go to the park)...but it was too hot! So back in the car, to the grocery store...several melt downs in the the frozen isle later (Pregnant + frozen isle = Pure bliss)...we received a text from a precious friend who invited us to go swimming at hers.

Now, the rest of the days story is full of ups and downs, tantrums...from the kids and myself...and lots of joy!  We had a blast swimming, and I learned a very, very important lesson.  I need to make summer plans!  I didn't think I would need to map out every day of summer... but now im coming to the conclusion that I need to. And thats ok. Its ok to be super organised in the summer.  Its too hot not to be!  So my goal this weekend is to do just that.  The thing about being a stay at home mom is, you dont really have summer break. Its just a continuation of your day to day time with the kids.  Which is amazing! But the hard thing is that the usual routine you have during the rest of the year is altered by incredible crowds wherever you go (especially the zoo), and the heat!  So its time for this momma to think and make a plan!

Oh, and one last thing to add... Olivia let me take her to the salon to get a summer bob!  She looks so cute!  Its officially summer for the Parrys! And Im going to tackle it and make it the best one possible!
